Nothing seems as overwhelming to getting into Rally Navigation as the equipment. You look at those amazing bikes in the Dakar Rally highlight reels and see so many specialized devices attached to their towers it makes your head spin. Fancy gear like ICO tripmeters and electric roll chart holders are bolted on along with a LOT of buttons on the bars. You just have to wonder what it is all for.

You can use all that stuff but we have found an easier solution. The TerraPirata Rally Roadbooks app running on your GPS enabled tablet or cell phone can do it all. The TerraPirata Rally Roadbooks app replicates all those fancy devices and adds some really handy features. It contains the roll chart, tripmeter, and compass. It also does some other cool stuff like timing, waypoint validation, and (unfortunately) speed control.
